The GLBUA held a 2 hour indoor clinic on Sept 8th 2011 at the Lawrence High School gym that was attended by 20 members, as well as 2 guests from the North Shore BUA and one from the New Hampshire BUA. The focus of the clinic was communication signals and infield mechanics, as well as some great discussion on how to look and act like a seasoned official. Special thanks to instructors Ted Houlihan, Dan Clark, Tom Torrisi, Scott Young, and Phil Cultrera for giving their time to the members, mostly first and 2nd year umpires. Your efforts are truly appreciated. With the success of the clinic, we hope to expand on it in 2012 and hopefully attract more participants.

Umpires in attendance: Ray Bellerose, Bob Correale, Tyler Corrigan, Kevin Davidson (NHBUA), Mike Eyssi, Anthony Ferlan, Bill Fortunato (NSBUA), Al Hooker, Amby Mejia, Brian Murphy, Mark Nemeskal, JJ Rivera, Mike Salach, Greg Tremblay (NSBUA), Noel Velez, Seth Winter.

2011 ON-FIELD CLINIC UPDATE:

This year's on-field clinic for new candidates and 2nd year umpires who missed the 2010 clinic was held on
Saturday May 7th at Andover High School (FR Field) @ 12:00 & 2:30 PM.
The Andover Senior League (14-16s) was our partner again as we provided training in 2 regular season league games. This clinic was required of all new members, and notification of participation was passed on to all local assignors.

Thanks to all who participated!
